Change the "The original 1950 constitution is preserved in a nitrogen-filled case at the Old Parliament House in New Delhi." to "The original 1950 constitution is preserved in a helium-filled case at the Old Parliament House in New Delhi." 2406:8800:9014:E810:3D9F:AAC4:DB81:7D2B (talk) 15:53, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

The original constitution is preserved in a Nitrogen filled case not Helium
[edit]There is a statement in the 4th paragraph of the main article which says The original 1950 constitution is preserved in a helium-filled case at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi. it should read as The original 1950 constitution is preserved in a nitrogen-filled case at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi.
The sources cited are unverified and untrustworthy. Here is an authoritative source from the Indian parliament website. https://eparlib.nic.in/bitstream/123456789/764132/1/jpi_September_2000.pdf Check page 405 in the linked pdf. Ajonit (talk) 08:18, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Ajonit
Not done .
There are already reputable and official sources confirming that helium is used to preserve original copy.
After looking your source, i am assuming that It can be possible that previously Nitrogen gas was used in past, but now it is replaced by Helium gas for the long time preservation.
Also according to science, Helium gas being inert, will provide superior protection against oxidation as compared to Nitrogen. Callmehelper (talk) 14:25, 28 January 2025 (UTC)- Please redirect this query to another moderator. There are several inert gases, not just helium. Helium is lighter than air and is not fit for such use cases. When choosing a gas for preservation, practicality and cost is considered. The source quoted by Wiki is a personal, ad-filled website of an individual.
- I have quoted the Indian parliament website itself.
- Your assumption is incorrect. There have been no changes in the boxes once they were sealed.
- Again, if you are not related to this field, kindly allow another moderator to work on this. Ajonit (talk) 14:47, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Ajonit, Yes , you are right. My assumption can be wrong. But here , sources matters. Which sources are you find , personal or ad filled? There ain't one. Callmehelper (talk) 15:16, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is the source which links to an ad-supported website. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_India#cite_note-12 (Architectural Digest India.)
- It's a very simple thing, I'm not sure what is that you are unable to understand. Please redirect my query to some experienced moderator who has basic knowledge of science and Indian constitution.
- I have provided you an authoritative Indian government source itself. https://eparlib.nic.in/bitstream/123456789/764132/1/jpi_September_2000.pdf Check page 405. Ajonit (talk) 15:30, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

Preamble photo in the infobox
[edit]Why not change the photo of the preamble as it is an outdated one which doesn't have the word "socialist" and "secular" in it. DataCrusade1999 (talk) 10:08, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
